Work is well under way on the feasibility study for the development of assets and facilities within the Durham Cathedral and Castle World Heritage Site.
This important piece of work will recommend how the educational and interpretational potential of the site could be realised further, to better inform the public as well as the formal users of the various buildings and functions housed within the WHS; and to develop sustainable tourism and a positive visitor experience. Already there is a hugely positive response to ideas and proposals being gathered during the stakeholder consultation stage and we are confident of moving further towards our goal with some dynamic and effective changes.
