Ryedale Gas Project

November 2010 | Filed under: Planning

Our ‘Tourism and Economic Impact Assessment for the Proposed Ryedale Gas Project’ has been submitted to North Yorkshire County Council and the North York Moors National Park Authority in support of a planning application by Moorland Energy Ltd for gas production at Ebberston, the construction of an 8km gas pipeline and a gas processing facility 2kms from the centre of Thornton-le-Dale, a tourism ‘honeypot’ in North Yorkshire.

Our work included researching existing tourism, reviewing the impacts of similar projects elsewhere, interviews with stakeholders and local tourism businesses, and calculating the likely tourism and economic impacts.  The work was praised for its level of detail by NYCC.
